FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a multicomponent curable liquid acrylic composition for preparing a bone cement composition or dental composition, a method of producing such a composition, a syringe or a syringe-gun for delivery thereof, as well as solid cement compositions obtained by mixing said multicomponent acrylic composition. Disclosed composition comprises a storage-stable first liquid portion, a storage-stable second liquid portion, wherein the portions are configured to form cement which hardens to solid when mixing the parts together. Composition includes an acrylic monomer component, an initiator component, acrylic polymer particles and a radiopaque filler, where the initiator component is present in an amount effective for polymerisation of the acrylic monomer component when mixed and/or activated with it. At least a portion of the X-ray contrast filler is encapsulated inside and/or adsorbed on the particles of the acrylic polymer in the first liquid portion and/or the second liquid portion. Also disclosed is a syringe or a syringe gun for delivering said curable composition in surgery or dentistry, having at least two chambers comprising said liquid first portion in its first chamber and a liquid second portion in its second chamber. Method of producing the above curable composition involves the following steps: (a) obtaining said storage-stable first liquid portion and a liquid second portion which is stable during storage; (i) where step (a) comprises a step of polymerising an acrylic monomer composition to obtain acrylic polymer particles, where the polymerisation is carried out in the presence of an X-ray contrast filler for encapsulating the X-ray contrast filler in acrylic polymer particles. Liquid carrier for particles of the acrylic polymer and the encapsulated and / or adsorbed radiopaque filler can be water. When mixing said composition, porous cement is obtained. Disclosed also is a liquid composition comprising a first plurality of acrylic particles obtained by emulsion or non-emulsion polymerisation, in which a polymerisation initiator is present in an amount sufficient for the liquid composition to solidify upon contact with the reactive monomer liquid, wherein the radiopaque filler is encapsulated and/or adsorbed in a first plurality of acrylic polymer particles.
EFFECT: said composition performance provides curable liquid-liquid compositions containing X-ray contrast filler without significant negative effect on mechanical properties (flexibility, expansion, fatigue strength) of the cured composition, which is observed when adding X-ray contrast filler in form of separate powder component.
