FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: aqueous composition includes: certain first solid polymer particles with an average diameter of 0.60-0.99 mcm, an estimated glass transition temperature of Tg 20 °C or less, and certain second solid polymer particles with a calculated Tg of -60°C to 120°C and an average diameter of 50 nm to 500 nm. The weight ratio (based on the dry matter) of the first solid polymer particles and the second solid polymer particles is from 0.15:1 to 10:1. This aqueous coating composition contains less than 10 vol % of inorganic particles as a filler.
EFFECT: invention allows to obtain a coating that provides a combination of very weak mirror shine at narrow angles, along with very strong specular gloss at wide angles.
