FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to reconnaissance in atmosphere of hypersonic target. Disclosed is a method and system for reconnaissance of a hypersonic object by degree of luminosity and radiation temperature of formation of a plasma and a red-hot vortex stream, an albedo of a condensation loop of its "trace in atmosphere", together with geometrical, dynamic and trajectory features of target selection, consisting in arrangement of optimum search conditions by lifting above 21 km on unmanned aeronautical vehicles and synchronous operation of thermal imagers, television cameras, which emit radars for a short time based on the principles of radio-photonics – measuring the range to the ion-electronic "trace in atmosphere" exercise. Their carriers as survey-aiming stations "drift" above ground-based stations for processing information and controlling radio-electronic reconnaissance of the search-tracking complex, where spatial coordinates and parameters of movement of the target are calculated.
EFFECT: measurement of angular coordinates by passive optical radiometer and range to target – active radar of meter-high radio waves, calculation of motion parameters with required accuracy.
