SUBSTANCE: use: to suppress side bands in a magnetic resonance imaging system. Summary of invention consists in the fact that method comprises a step of providing a first multi-band RF pulse for simultaneous excitation of at least two slices in a subject in the first and second frequency band and collection, using an MRI system, signals from excited two slices and at least one additional signal in the third frequency band, wherein the additional signal occurs as a result of excitation by the side stripe of the cut different from the two slices; step of using a first multi-band RF a pulse for determining an additional signal; step of removing a pre-compensation member from a first multi-band RF pulse and additional signal, adding a preliminary compensation member to a first multi-band RF pulse, in order to obtain a second multi-band RF pulse, thereby replacing the first multi-band RF pulse with second multi-band RF pulse for suppression of at least part of additional signal.
EFFECT: providing a priori correction of side bands, which occur as a result of unintentional excitation of sections and, as a result, higher quality of collected MR data.
