SUBSTANCE: use: for applying radiation to a pre-selected anatomical portion of a subject. In the method, the radiotherapy device is configured to deliver and direct a radiotherapy beam along an axis to a predetermined target position in an imaging zone in the MR module (in the magnetic resonance module) of the therapy system. Said predefined target position corresponds to the position of the RF coil of the MR module.
EFFECT: ensuring a balance between accurate positioning of the RF coil and protection of the RF coil from excess radiation in order to improve the image quality created by the MRI module, and, consequently, increase the accuracy/reliability of the therapeutic procedure.
