FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment and can be used for prediction of short-circuit time of power cable by determination of its insulation resistance. Summary: cable state monitoring device (CSMD) comprises control device (CD) for collection, processing and transmission of information, input / output of which is information input / output CSMD. To first output CD first input of measuring voltage supply device (MVSD), which output is connected to multifunctional input / output CSMD, to which input of primary information removal device (PIRD), and quantiser, which output is connected to input CD. At that, CSMD additionally comprises a resistance range switching device (RRSD), the first input of which is connected to the output PIRD, second input is to the third output CD, and the output is to the IID input, and a measurement voltage control device (MVCD), the input of which is connected to the third output CD, and output is to second input MVSD. CSMD can contain calibration device (ClD) connected between fourth output CD and multifunctional input / output CSMD to enable adjustment of measurement channels in manual mode at installation site.

EFFECT: possibility of determining cable resistance with given accuracy and evaluation of its state throughout operation.
