SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of rolling. By means of the rolling process model the predicted values are determined for the required profile outline taking into account the previously found adaptation values, wherein calculating contour of (n + x)-th metal strip, calculating predicted value for contour of profile of at least n-th metal strip in reference position bi using a process model, then rolling at least n-th metal strip is performed, after which actual value of profiles of rolled at least n-th metal strip is measured in the same reference position bi and determining the adaptation value as the difference between the actual value and the predicted value, based on this, finding a new adaptation value of profile contour (n + x)-th metal strip in reference position bi. For more accurate prediction of the profile contour, as well as for more accurate adjustment of profile adjustment actuators during subsequent fabrication of (n + x)-th metal strip, invention provides finding adaptation values not only in one reference position bi, and in plurality of support positions on at least one section of width of at least n-th metal strip.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase accuracy of forecasting parameters of the band contour.
