RADON GENERATOR WITH DISPLACING GAS PRE-HEATING DEVICE Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61G10/02 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment. Radon generator consists of capsule with radium salt placed in stainless steel housing. Air duct and radon guide of capsule are made in the form of straight tubes with diameter of 4 mm, on which there are shutoff valves connected to thermocouple in capsule body, opening only at temperature of capsule 30–40 °C, and in the middle one-third of the radon guide there is a trap for radium salt, in the form of an extension of tube to 10 mm over 40 mm, the air duct is raised to the level of a radon guide and between them a partition which maximizes radon circulation is installed. Radon generator is also characterized by using a special device for preliminary heating of the displacement gas with an electric pump and a thermostat. Radon source used is radium bromide in amount of 30 mg.

EFFECT: proposed radon generator is safe: there is no risk of salt of radium outside working capsules; reliable - significantly reduced risk of pipe blockages; long-lived - due to use of argon in salt of radium sulphur does not fall, which reduces emanating capacity of radium, and eutectic is not saturated with atmospheric moisture destroying it and reducing melting temperature.
