FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to titanium-based alloys used as high-strength heat-strengthened structural material, intermediate workpieces of titanium alloys for making articles by cold plastic deformation at room temperature, for example, fastening parts, as well as methods of making such workpieces. Titanium-based alloy contains, wt. %: aluminium 2÷3, vanadium from 12 to less than 14, chromium 1.5÷3.0, tin 2.0÷3.0, molybdenum 0.1÷1.0, zirconium 0.1÷1.0, niobium 0.001÷0.2, iron <0.1, silicon <0.1, oxygen <0.14, carbon <0.1, nitrogen <0.03, hydrogen <0.01, titanium is the rest, wherein total content of tin and zirconium ranges from 2.5 to 3.8 wt. %. Value of molybdenum equivalent ([Mo] eq) ranges from 14 to 15.
EFFECT: higher process plasticity at room temperature in quenched state and ability to further thermal hardening of alloy based on titanium and bar workpiece.
