FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing in order to use (recycling) galvanic sludge-hydroxides of heavy metals with predominant content of iron hydroxide formed during treatment of waste water from electroplating shops and sections by electrocoagulation method. Method includes mixing of galvanic sludge in reactor with wastes of technical carbon as reducing agent in amount of 15–100 % of dry substance of galvanic sludge at supply of 80–100 % of dehydrated on vacuum or press filters of galvanic sludge before loading wastes of powder carbon reducing agent. Obtained mixture is subjected to heat treatment in rotary tempering furnace to achieve temperature of not less than 900 °C at heating rate 100 °C for 5 minutes and holding at this temperature for at least an hour to produce magnetite.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain high-quality magnetite from galvanic sludge.
