FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for magnetic fluid production includes formation of magnetite suspension, coating of magnetite particles surface with an adsorbed layer of stabilizing material. Then the magnetic particles suspension with adsorbed layer of stabilizing agent is warmed. The carrier liquid is introduced and the aqueous phase is separated. The source of trivalent and bivalent iron to produce magnetite is galvanic sludge dehydrated on a vacuum filter. Next, the galvanic sludge is dried at 105°C, calcined at 400-700 °C and milled in an electromagnetic device.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce costs for magnetic fluid preparation, use large-tonnage production waste - galvanic sludge - as raw material.
