FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of pipeline transport. Method of replacing a defective section of a pipeline involves detection of a defective section, evaluation of the deformed state of the defective section of the pipeline, cutting of the defective section, alignment of the pipes, marking, installation and welding of the repair "coil" with pipes of the pipeline. When evaluating the stress-strain state of the defective section of the pipeline, the type of its elastic deformation is determined, and the following through cuts are made on the defective section: during compression deformation longitudinal incisions relative to the longitudinal axis of the pipeline, at expansion and/or torsion deformation cuts in form of spiral turns relative to longitudinal axis of pipeline, at deformation of bend transverse notches on side of action of tensile stresses. Said notches are made before release of elastic deformation of defective section of pipeline.
EFFECT: invention can be used in repair of main pipeline with replacement of defective section by method of cutting/tie-in of coil.
