FIELD: operation of transport and production machines.
SUBSTANCE: applied in the design of internal combustion engines. A steel supply tube 9 is installed on the engine crankshaft 6. One end of it is screwed into the threaded hole of the crankshaft 6, the other side of the tube is connected to the adapter coupling 8 using a sleeve 13. The supply tube 9 has a support platform with holes for fastening with bolts 15 to the crankshaft pulley 16. The bracket 17 for fastening the adapter coupling 8 is fixed to the cylinder block. A highly sensitive digital pressure sensor 7 is installed on the housing of the adapter coupling 8. To ensure tightness, a copper washer 20 is installed between the coupling body and the sensor. At a certain mileage interval when the internal combustion engine is operating at the maximum torque speed, sensor 7 takes instantaneous values of the oil pressure in the channel along the axis of the crankshaft 6, from which the information is transmitted to the microprocessor 10. The microprocessor compares the received signal with the pressure limit value and previously received values from the sensor. Oil pressure data is accumulated in data storage means 12. Numerical values of pressure and remaining life are displayed on display 11 located on the vehicle’s instrument panel.
EFFECT: ability to monitor, collect, store and transmit to an on-board diagnostic system data on oil pressure in the center of the crankshaft, preventing failure of connecting rod bearings by early detection of a pre-failure condition.
