FIELD: engine technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of operation of machines and can be used in an on-board system for diagnosing internal combustion engines (ICE) with in-place monitoring of the pre-failure condition of connecting rod bearings. The method for in-place control of the pre-failure condition of the connecting rod bearings of the internal combustion engine consists in determining the oil pressure in the channels along the axis of the crankshaft, where is the sum of the measured oil pressure in close proximity to the surface of the crankshaft neck and taken with a minus sign of oil pressure losses in the channels of the crankshaft from the action of centrifugal forces when the transition from the surface of the root neck to the axis of the crankshaft, mathematically calculated in the software unit of the on-board system for diagnosing. At the same time, according to the sum of the measured pressure and calculated pressure losses to the crankshaft axis, the oil supply mode to the connecting rod bearings is determined in real time in the following form: less than zero: no oil supply, equal to zero: broken flow, greater than zero: continuous flow.
EFFECT: accuracy of data on the technical condition of connecting rod bearings increases.
