FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermal control coatings, including thermal control coatings of spacecrafts, and can be used in space engineering, as well as in construction industry and in wide industries for temperature control of devices or process objects. Described is a pigment for thermal control coatings of spacecrafts of class "solar optical reflectors", prepared from barium sulphate powder. Pigment is obtained by heating barium sulphate powder for 2 hours in air at atmospheric pressure and temperature of 400 °C. Pigment has high radiation resistance, a measure of which is a change in the integral absorption coefficient of 0.013–0.037 when exposed to electrons (30 keV) with fluence (1, 2, 3, 4)⋅1016 cm-2.
EFFECT: disclosed is a pigment for thermal control coatings of spacecrafts.
