FIELD: test technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pigments for temperature-regulating coatings of class "solar optical reflectors". Described is a method of selecting radiation resistance tests of pigments – barium sulphate powders for thermal control coatings of the class "solar optical reflectors". Method involves recording the coefficient of diffuse reflection of various powders of barium sulphate at wavelength 350 nm and evaluating their radiation resistance from the reflection coefficient: the higher the reflection coefficient, the higher the radiation resistance of the powder.
EFFECT: invention provides selection of barium sulphate pigments with maximum radiation resistance without performing expensive irradiation of all powders and subsequent measurement of their reflection spectra in a vacuum to determine the best radiation resistance of the powder.
