FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing an aqueous suspension of precipitated calcium carbonate, to an aqueous suspension of precipitated calcium carbonate and to a precipitated calcium carbonate obtained using said method, to a product containing an aqueous suspension of precipitated calcium carbonate or precipitated calcium carbonate, as well as to use thereof. Described is a method of producing an aqueous suspension of precipitated calcium carbonate, the method comprising steps of: I) providing a material containing calcium oxide, II) providing at least one copolymer of formula (I)

in which x, y and z are present in blocks with alternation or distribution randomly; x>0, and at least one of y or z >0, and sum of x+y+z ≤150; R1 is hydrogen or a functional sulpho group; R2 is a heteroatom optionally substituted with an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, a heteroaryl group and/or a polyalkoxylated group; R3 and R4 independently of each other represent a hydroxyl group, (OˉM+), where M+ is a monovalent, divalent or trivalent cation, an O-alkyl group containing 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an N-alkyl group containing 1 to 20 carbon atoms and/or a polyalkoxylated group, III) obtaining lime milk by mixing water, a calcium oxide-containing material from step i) and at least one copolymer from step II) to obtain lime milk, wherein the calcium oxide-containing material and the water are mixed in a weight ratio of 1:1 to 1:12, and IV) carbonisation of lime milk obtained at step III) to form an aqueous suspension of precipitated calcium carbonate. Described also is an aqueous suspension of precipitated calcium carbonate, a product, precipitated calcium carbonate, use of an aqueous suspension of precipitated calcium carbonate.

EFFECT: reduced acceptable viscosity of solid substances of suspension of precipitated calcium carbonate.
