SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used on existing and newly designed sections of railway and industrial transport, as well as subways. Smoothing reactor comprises at least one unit comprising inductance coil (2) coaxially arranged relative to sectioned non-magnetic gaps of rod (1) with winding from litzendraht, placed in non-magnetic medium with high electric strength. Structural elements of ferromagnetic rod (1) are made in the form of cylinders of low height, having a radial slot, which prevents flow of induced ring currents and performs input of inductance coil (2) inside radial-cylindrical armored rod-shaped magnetic system (3, 4) from ferromagnetic material. Coil is isolated from the rod, oriented vertically and rests on supporting dielectric structures. Radial-cylindrical armored rod-type magnetic system includes ferromagnetic rod (1) arranged coaxially at the center of coil (2), yoke flanges (3) and outer shell (4) closing magnetic flux Fm. Magnetic flow Fm is formed by rectified load current Il. Contained in Il variable component directs directly to conversion coefficient in yoke flanges (3) and outer shell (4) annular currents Ia, each of which passes at depth of skin-layer at its characteristic frequency and attenuates with release of thermal energy on active resistance of short-circuited turns.

EFFECT: reduced exchange of reactive energy with a converter, reactive voltage drop, transformation of electromagnetic radiation into Joule heat, reduced losses, improved quality of electric power in a traction network.
