Tread has main groove (12) passing in direction along tire circumference in shoulder area of tread section (10); and plurality of ground-engaging grooves (41) extending from main groove (12) to outer side in transverse direction of tire and extending to side portion (2); and plurality of blocks (42) delimited by main groove (12) and ground engaging grooves (41); where the tire edge on side of blocks (42) closest to the middle in the radial direction is located further to the outer side in the tire radial direction than the tire maximum width position. Ratio of h/H of orthogonal distance H from position of end E of end of contact with soil to edge on the side of blocks (42) in the radial direction of the tire closest to middle is 0.2 or more. In the side zone (S) further to the outer side in the transverse direction of the tire than the end (E) of the contact spot of blocks (42) with the ground, there are multiple deepened sections (45) with a closed outer boundary. Sin/Sout ratio of total area Sin of plurality of depressed areas (45) on blocks to area Sout of side zone (S) of blocks is set in range 0.2≤Sin/Sout≤0.6.
EFFECT: improvement of running characteristics of tire on muddy soil, snow-covered roads, sand soil.
