FIELD: automotive industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the automotive industry. Pneumatic tire comprises four or more longitudinal main grooves in direction along tire circumference and five or more running areas formed by longitudinal main grooves. Left and right longitudinal main grooves from number of longitudinal main grooves located on extreme side in tire transverse direction are defined as extreme longitudinal main grooves, left and right running sections from among running areas located on side of tire equatorial plane and formed by extreme longitudinal main grooves are defined as second running sections. One of the second running sections includes a longitudinal narrow groove passing in the direction along the tire circumference, and multiple sets of the first ground engaging grooves and the second ground engaging grooves passing in the transverse direction of the tire and passing through the longitudinal narrow groove. One end section of the first ground engaging groove opens into one edge section of one second running section, and the other end section ends inside one second running section. One end of the second ground engaging groove opens to the other end section of one second running section, and the other end ends inside one second running section. First ground engaging grooves and the second ground engaging groove are arranged alternately along the tire circumference. Longitudinal main grooves on the side of the equatorial plane of the tire, which form the other second running section, have a bent profile with amplitude in the transverse direction of the tire and contain a curved section with an acute bend angle on the end section on the side of the equatorial plane of the tire; and other second running section comprises ground engaging groove, which opens in position facing bent section.

EFFECT: improved operational characteristics when driving on snow and on ice.
