FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power plants, namely, to liquid-propellant rocket engines (LPRE) and can be used in development and design of a LPRE on non-self-igniting fuel components. In method of igniting fuel components in liquid-propellant rocket engine based on heating, gasification and ignition of combustible mixture, by supplying energy pulse from laser source, with focusing the laser beam with one or more lenses so that the optical breakdown is carried out in the cavity filled with a mixture of one of the fuel components and the optically transparent gas of at least one nozzle of the multi-fusion mixing head, with ignition of mixture of fuel components in the cavity of this nozzle and subsequent ignition of all fuel flow leaving the mixing head, combustion products from this nozzle, according to the invention, the focusing device is placed in the cavity of this nozzle, which is filled during operation with optically transparent gas.
EFFECT: invention provides use of laser ignition for any combination of fuel components and high reliability of ignition of fuel components, especially for a LPRE of multiple switching.
