FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear technology and can be used in natural circulation of a liquid metal coolant in a circuit of a fast neutron reactor. To generate dynamic pressure for the circulation of a liquid metal coolant in a circuit of a fast neutron nuclear reactor without heat transfer from the reactor before filling pipelines and equipment of lifting and lowering sections of the circuit, they are electrically heated to temperatures T1 and T2, selected according to the inequation: ρ1(T1)⋅g⋅ΔH1>ρ2(T2)⋅g⋅ΔH2+ΔP, wherein ρ1(T1) - density of a liquid metal coolant at temperature T1 of pipelines at the lifting section; ρ2(T2) - density of a liquid metal coolant at temperature T2 of pipelines on the lowering section; ΔH1 - difference in height between the input and output of the lifting section; ΔH2 - difference in height between the input and output of the lowering section; ΔR - hydraulic resistance of the circuit; g - gravity acceleration.
EFFECT: ensuring the start of natural circulation by generating dynamic pressure of circulation and ensuring the required direction of natural circulation of a liquid metal coolant in the heat sink circuit without transferring heat from the nuclear reactor.
