FIELD: radio equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine location of objects by external radio-frequency radiation, including radio beacons, radio and television centres. Said result is achieved due to that radar ranging method includes probing radio signal emission by transmitter, receiving signals at a remote point, determining direction on a target, spatial filtering of direct and reflected signals and determining therefrom and aiming at a distance to the target, wherein reception of signals is carried out using antennas forming antenna array, received signals are converted into angular spectrum with zero to transmitter, direction to target is determined from position of maximum of this spectrum, then, on the received signals, spatial reflection of the reflected and direct signals with controlled zero reception in the direction of the transmitter and target, respectively.

EFFECT: technical result is expansion of system working zone, at least, in sector 30° to emitter and reduction of location time by four orders of magnitude.
