FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing olefin products with carbon number in the range of C16-C30, suitable for use as oilfield hydrocarbons or for conversion into oilfield hydrocarbons, wherein the method includes: separating an olefin-containing Fischer-Tropsch condensate into a light fraction which is a fraction of C5–C7, intermediate fraction, which is fraction C8–C15, which contains paraffins and alpha-olefins, and heavy fraction, which is fraction C16–C22, which contains paraffins and alpha-olefins; oligomerising at least a portion of the light fraction using a zeolite catalyst to form a first olefin product which contains branched internal olefins; performing one or both of the following steps: (i) dehydrogenating at least a portion of the intermediate fraction for converting paraffins into internal olefins to thereby obtain an intermediate product which contains internal olefins and alpha-olefins, and synthesis of higher olefins by dimerisation or metathesis of olefins from an intermediate product which contains internal olefins and alpha-olefins, to form a second olefin product; and (ii) dimerising at least a portion of the intermediate fraction to form a second olefin product; and dehydrogenation of at least a portion of the heavy fraction to convert paraffins into internal olefins to thereby obtain a third olefin product which contains internal olefins, wherein the first olefin product and the second olefin product are such that the combination of the first olefin product and the second olefin product provides an olefin product with at least 50 wt. % of hydrocarbons having a carbon chain length of 15 to 30 carbon atoms per molecule. Invention also relates to a method of producing an olefin product.
EFFECT: use of the present invention enables to modify olefins from Fischer-Tropsch condensate to olefins with higher molecular weight, which can be used as raw material for surfactants for methods of increasing oil recovery or drilling mud, in which the number of carbon atoms is in the range of C16–C30.
