FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of measurement using photoelectric angular and linear displacement transducers. In the method analogue quadrature signals are converted synchronously into digital signals and the numbers of the current quadrant of the phase plane of quadrature signals and generating control signals of the reversible counter, which is used to record the number of whole periods of quadrature signals phase change, the current quadrant number of the phase plane is stored as the first and second digits of the fractional part of the quadrature signals phase output code, result of addition of output codes of both analogue-to-digital converters is used as address of memory cells in memory unit, storing lower digits of fractional part of quadrature phase codes, which, after reading from the memory unit, are added to the third and subsequent digits of the fractional part of the output code of the phase of the quadrature signals.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of speed of signals processing.
