FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of nanoparticles of manganese oxides and manganese oxide aerogels. Method involves dissolving an organometallic precursor of manganese in supercritical carbon dioxide in a high-pressure reactor with addition of pure oxygen as an oxidising agent. Further, the organometallic precursor of manganese is directly decomposed in a high-pressure reactor to form powdered nanoparticles of manganese oxide and manganese oxide aerogels. Disclosed is a manganese oxide aerogel having an average particle size not exceeding 10 nm, a specific surface area of not less than 70 m2/g and density not exceeding 7 mg/ml.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain separate nanoparticles in the form of powder and monolithic aerogels of manganese oxide without solvent replacement and drying.
