FIELD: composite aerogels.

SUBSTANCE: production of composite aerogels containing carbon aerogels and metal oxides. Composite carbon aerogel contains in its pores the oxide of such metal as iron, manganese, tungsten, cobalt or chromium. The metal oxide that fills the pores of the original carbon aerogel is in the form of an aerogel and is evenly distributed in the pores of the carbon aerogel. The aerogel has a density less than 0.2 g/cm3 and its specific surface area is more than 500 m2/g. The method for obtaining said aerogel includes thermal decomposition of metal carbonyl in a mixture of supercritical CO2 and oxygen.

EFFECT: creation of a composite carbon aerogel containing metal oxide in form of an aerogel.
