FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and relates to production of rods of round profile with diameter of 150–350 mm from metals and alloys. Method includes multi-pass reversible helical rolling in the caliber formed by three rolls turned through feed angle 18–25°, having two crimping sections and common calibrating section. Technical result is ensured by the fact that the last pass is performed with roll feed angles 1.5–2.5 times less than in the main passages with reduction making 0.1–0.3 of reduction in main passages.
EFFECT: reduced height of the helical wave on the surface of the obtained rods, improved quality and accuracy of their geometric dimensions.
