FIELD: helical rolling.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the helical rolling of solid billets. The billets are heated, deformed by rollers having crimping and calibrating sections, deployed at the feed and rolling angle so that the axes of the rolls with respect to the rolling axis are crossing straight lines. The crossing angle is 18-27°, and the rolling angle is no more than 0.3 of the crossing angle. The angle of inclination of the generatrix of the roll surface at the crimping section is 0.23-0.65 of the crossing angle, and the difference in roll diameters along the length does not exceed 15%.
EFFECT: quality and accuracy of the geometrical dimensions of rolled products are increased while the weight of the equipment is reduced.
