FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of round metal workpieces from square billet. Billet is placed in round matrix. Workpiece is settled by reverse die skipping between rolls. Said matrix omissions are made in mutually perpendicular directions, which ensures filling of the whole matrix volume with metal. Matrix forms two groups of parts contacting each other through an elastic ring-damper and a lenticular element. One set of parts comprises a ring and a puncheon articulated therewith with a sliding fit. Puncheon diameter is equal to matrix diagonal. Other group of parts comprises ring and support plate.
EFFECT: improved quality of blanks due to increased accuracy of their manufacture.
