FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy and can be used for production of abrasive tools. Method of producing composite diamond-containing material involves mixing diamond powder with aluminum powder, hot pressing at 500–600 °C to obtain porosity of 3–6 vol% and surface oxidation. At that, on surface of diamond grains copper coating is applied to produce diamond powder with metallisation degree of 25–100 % of initial diamond powder weight, and in mixture of aluminum and diamond powders additionally 5–30 wt% of mixture of corundum powder with granularity in 2–10 times less than diamond powder granularity.
EFFECT: high strength, wear resistance of the obtained composite diamond-containing material, as well as higher cutting capacity of the diamond tool made from said material and high energy efficiency of the technology of obtaining said material.
