SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering for analysing video data. Technical result is achieved by segmenting a video file into video fragments with different values of fragment importance, based on estimates of the importance of the frame corresponding to the video frame, and other frame importance estimates corresponding to additional video frames of the video file; ranging of video fragments according to importance values of fragments; and when the ranging attempt fails due to the insufficient availability of high-level features in the video frame and additional video frames of the video file, obtaining an estimate of features for both high-level features, and for low-level video frame features to perform ranking, wherein low-level features include at least one of quality of exposure, quality of saturation, diversity of shades, video frame jitter, average brightness, colour entropy and differences of histograms between adjacent video frames.
EFFECT: technical result is improvement of accuracy of analysis video frame of video data.
