SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of transporting multimedia data. By means of the protocol sending unit based on the source device file receiving the data stream containing the multimedia data segments from the source device segmenter, which generates segments, wherein each of the segments comprises a corresponding individually extracted file associated with a unique unified resource identifier (URL). Locations of multimedia delivery events (MDE) are determined in the multimedia data stream, wherein the MDE includes data for at least a portion of one of the segments, determining one or more transmission time requirements for the MDE, representing the time points in which the MDE should be are sent to a client device. MDE and data representing transmission time requirements are provided to the physical layer sending unit of the source device in accordance with available delivery time intervals for the physical layer sending module.
EFFECT: technical result consists in prevention of insufficient filling of buffer on client device.
