FIELD: textile and paper.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to paper industry and relates to paper and cardboard products having optical, surface and / or mechanical properties, which make them suitable, in particular for printing. Products contain a substrate containing cellulose and a coating layer containing microfibrillar cellulose and inorganic solid particles. Invention also relates to methods of producing such paper and cardboard products and corresponding use of said paper and cardboard products. Microfibrillarised cellulose and inorganic particulate material (consisting of solid particles) are applied at a step, when wet substrate is in process of molding on wire mesh of paper-making machine, thereby avoiding additional costs for more large-scale equipment and equipment, as well as for separate drying of coating.
EFFECT: microfibrillar cellulose makes it easier to apply inorganic solid particles on the surface of a wet paper or cardboard substrate, when depositing them in such a way, by trapping inorganic solid particles on the surface of the substrate and by imparting sufficient strength and a suitable porous structure to the composite material, which makes it suitable for printing and other types of end use.
