FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for directed radiation and reception of electromagnetic waves. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that the antenna contains a dielectric rod with two groups of metal conductors installed asymmetrically to the axis of the rod with a pitch equal to half the wavelength in the dielectric waveguide, device for excitation of surface wave in form of E-sector horn, dielectric rod is installed in rectangular waveguide of increased size in E-plane, waveguide is electrically connected to the E-sector horn along the entire perimeter of the waveguide cross-section, in the upper wall of which a slot is cut along the axis of symmetry of the waveguide.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of increasing the antenna efficiency and reducing the level of far sidewalks in the antenna pattern.
