SUBSTANCE: invention refers to veterinary medicine, and can be used for prevention of mastitis in cows. Phototherapy of breast tissue is performed. Phototherapy used is non-contact irradiation by means of a set of LEDs of red-infrared light mounted on a milking unit. Set includes 12 light-emitting diodes of red light with wavelength of red LEDs of 635 nm and 4 infrared LEDs with wave length of 840 nm and modulation frequency of 100–101 Hz. Procedure is daily, twice day for 20 minutes during milking.

EFFECT: method provides more effective prevention of mastitis in cows due to exposure on animals with autonomous contactless radiation using a set of red-infrared light diodes.
