FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of molded zeolite adsorbent. Initial composition is prepared, for which powdered crystalline zeolite is mixed in dry form with binder fluoroplastic. Solvent selected from a series of ketones, for example acetone, is added to the mixture. After complete dissolution of the binder, the suspension is again stirred to obtain a homogeneous mass and dispersed into a stream of air heated to temperature of 75÷120 °C. Obtained spherical granules of molded sorbent are separated from air flow. Vapors evaporating in process of molding are condensed and returned to production cycle. Granules are subjected to activation by heat treatment in vacuum at residual pressure of not more than 5 mm Hg and temperature of 180–230 °C until complete removal of solvent. Invention ensures environmental safety of the molded sorbent production process.
EFFECT: sorbent possesses high kinetics of sorbate mass transfer in sorption-desorption cycles, increased sorption capacity and mechanical strength.
