FIELD: textile.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of textile silicon carbide materials. Disclosed is a method of producing textile silicon carbide materials by silicifying thermal treatment of carbon fibre precursors in SiO gas medium. Silicifying thermal treatment of carbon fibre precursors is carried out in a batch reactor containing a material which generates SiO gas when heated; heat treatment is carried out in conditions of continuous vacuum pumping of gaseous products at temperature of 1350–1650 °C with curing for 60–600 minutes. Temperature rise rate during heating in range of 1300 °C to silicifying thermal treatment temperature is 0.2–6.0 °C/min.

EFFECT: technical result of invention: possibility of obtaining textile silicon carbide materials, having high degree of homogeneity of microstructure, due to slow silicifying of carbon fibre precursors with SiO gas.
