FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to cardiology, and can be used for prediction of dynamics of intrarenal vascular resistance and glycated hemoglobin in patients with arterial hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus 30 weeks after the beginning of antihypertensive therapy. A patient is examined for the carotid arteries distensibility index before the antihypertensive therapy. If the initial value of distensibility index is equal to 19.2 × 10-3 kPa and more, reducing the values of intrarenal vascular resistance and the level of glycated hemoglobin for 30 weeks from the beginning of the antihypertensive therapy. If initial value of distensibility index is less than 19.2 × 10-3 kPa growth of intrarenal vascular resistance and level of glycated hemoglobin for 30 weeks from the beginning of antihypertensive therapy is predicted.

EFFECT: method provides predicting the dynamics of intrinsic vascular resistance and glycated hemoglobin in the patients with arterial hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus 30 weeks after the beginning of the antihypertensive therapy as a result of determining local arterial stiffness of common carotid arteries based on calculation of distensibility index before treatment.
