FIELD: education.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of teaching letter and is designed to form correct graphic skill in preschool and primary school children, as well as correction and fixation of already formed graphic skill. Method of teaching calligraphic writing skill, comprising using didactic material formed by means of a coordinate grid, three main and one auxiliary topological classes of elementary lines, groups of marker points with the possibility of their superposition on elementary lines, pointers indicating direction of trainee pen movement, repeating shape of elementary line, with the possibility of aligning switches with elementary lines, wherein elementary lines of topological classes, arrows and groups of marker points are combined in the required sequence into letter elements or letters to obtain didactic material. Class of lines "by air" is introduced on coordinate grid, each element of which demonstrates recommended path of pen without contact with paper at transition from end of previous letter-element to beginning of other letter-element in letter or from letter to letter in word. Lines "by air" can be shown on didactic material and differ by image method from all other lines of didactic material.

EFFECT: application of optimum motions of a trainee feather not only at movement of a feather on paper, but also at movement without contact with it.
