FIELD: blasting operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to system and methods of blasting operations. Method of forming a stem of an explosive well includes: feeding a superabsorbent polymer gel having a water to superabsorbent polymer ratio of at least 25:1, pump into explosive well with explosive to create an unsaturated gelled column of water, thereby providing stem, reflecting shock wave, in explosive well to increase efficiency of explosive during blasting operations. Water column of water reduces the detonation pressure by at least 98 % within the distance equal to 200 mm.
EFFECT: method allows controlling direction and focusing of blast wave gases.
