FIELD: paper production; cellulose production.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to use of a hardening composition for increasing dimensional stability in humid conditions of an item made from pressed fibrous mass. Article from the pressed fibrous mass is produced by a method which involves producing a fibrous suspension, feeding it into a molding reservoir of the pressing device and drying an article from the pressed fibrous mass. Reinforcing composition contains at least one resin with permanent wet strength, which is a cross-linked polyamidoamine-epihalohydrin resin. Reinforcing composition is added to the fibrous suspension prior to molding the product from the pressed fibrous mass in an amount which gives 1.3–26 kg of the resin with constant wet strength/ton of the dry fibrous suspension.

EFFECT: higher dimensional stability in wet condition and/or physical strength of article from pressed fibrous mass, especially in strongly alkaline medium.
