FIELD: processing of materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metalworking, namely, to machining of materials, and is intended for production of globoid worm at gear hobbing machine. Gear hobbing machine for making globoid worm includes bed with moving table installed on it, milling unit consisting of shackle, guide for installation of shackle, carriage spindle, support and pull-out support. Said shackle accommodates tapered steel bushing accommodating replaceable bronze bearing with adjustable radial clearance. In the carriage spindle there is a collet mandrel. Billet for globoid worm is arranged between collet mandrel and shackle. There is a mandrel with a cutting head for cutting a helical groove on the table. Cutter head accommodates four cutters. Bracket with step motor and hydraulic booster with direct output to table lead screw is installed on the bed.
EFFECT: higher quality of treatment of globoid worms at gear hobbing machine.
