FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a rare-earth metal magnet, in particular a rare-earth metal magnet containing Sm, Fe and N, as well as a method for production thereof. Magnet from rare-earth metals contains magnetic phase including Sm, Fe and N. Magnetic phase is surrounded by Zn-phase, at that intermediate phase is present between magnetic phase and Zn-phase. Intermediate phase contains Zn. Content of oxygen in intermediate phase is higher than content of oxygen in Zn-phase. Phase Sm2O3 Ia-3-type is formed in intermediate phase. Method of producing a magnet from rare-earth metals involves mixing powder of an initial magnetic material and a powder of an improving reagent, which contains metal Zn and/or Zn alloy powder, in which the oxygen content is 1.0 wt% or less, as well as thermal treatment of the mixed powder.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to create a magnet from rare-earth metals, having an excellent coercive force.
