FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder technology, particularly, to production of articles from titanium-based powder compositions, particularly titanium briquettes with flux. It can be used for titanium alloying of aluminum alloys used in rocket engineering, aviation, automotive and other industries. Two-component mixture is prepared from titanium powder with particle size of 1.0–3.2 mm and potassium chloride electrolyte with particle size of 1.0–2.0 mm, with the following ratio of components, wt%: titanium powder – 80, potassium chloride electrolyte – 20. Before pressing, the two-component mixture is mixed for 30–50 minutes and then pressed at specific pressure 15–17 MPa.
EFFECT: obtaining briquettes of specified density with strength, optimal for their transportation.
