FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to package for medical devices. Package for a medical device comprises a tray, a retainer lid and a retainer sleeve. Tray has a top surface, a bottom surface, a proximal end, a distal end, and first and second lateral sides that extend between the proximal and distal ends. Tray comprises elements projecting from said top surface. Retainer lid is secured to said tray for covering said top surface of said tray at the distal end of said tray, wherein the proximal end is not covered by the retainer lid. Retainer sleeve has a distal end and a proximal end. Distal end of said retainer sleeve is wrapped around said top and bottom surfaces of said tray and is secured to said tray by said retainer lid. Proximal end of said retainer sleeve includes a top panel that covers said top surface of said tray at the proximal end of said tray. Proximal end of the tray is not covered by the retainer lid, covered by the top panel of the retainer sleeve, and the top panel of the retainer sleeve has a free edge that is designed to fold in the direction from the top surface of the tray. In the second embodiment, the medical device package comprises a thermoformed tray, a medical device, a thermoformed retainer lid and a retainer sleeve. Medical device is located above the top surface of the tray, wherein the medical device has a handle and an elongated shaft protruding from the handle. Tray comprises members protruding from the lateral top surface including a first channel for receiving the handle, a second channel for receiving the elongated shaft, the protrusion located between the first and second channels, as well as a pair of holders located at the proximal end of the tray. Handle is located between the holders and the protrusion to minimise proximal and distal movement of the medical device relative to the tray. Thermoformed retainer lid is attached to the tray to cover the elongated shaft of the medical device at the distal end of the tray, and the proximal end of the tray and the handle are not covered by the retainer lid. Retainer sleeve has a distal end and a proximal end. Proximal end of the tray and handles that are not covered by the retainer lid are covered by the top panel of the retainer sleeve. Top panel of the retainer sleeve has a free edge that is configured to bend away from the top surface of the tray to provide access to the handle of the medical device. Handle has a base and is rotatable around the base in order to release the handle from the holders so that the medical device is able to move proximally to remove the medical device from the tray. In a third embodiment, the medical device package comprises said tray, retainer lid and a flap. Retainer lid is attached to a tray to cover the top surface of the tray at the distal end of the tray. Flap has a proximal end, a distal end, and a side extending between the proximal and distal ends. Side of the flap is attached to one of the sides of the tray, and the distal end of the flap is attached to the tray with the retainer lid. Top surface of the tray at the proximal end is not covered by the retainer lid. Flap covers the top surface of the tray at the proximal end of the tray, not covered by the retainer lid, and the flap has a free edge, which is configured to bend in the direction from the top surface of the tray.
EFFECT: group of inventions enables to maintain a strong seal before opening to maintain a sterile environment inside packages.
