FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method for early prediction of probability of a defect in a thyristor stage includes: within a predetermined time range, recording information on time of status indication signals returned by thyristor control units (TCU) of a converter valve, performing statistical analysis of data and comparing time information with a range of normal distribution interval and with a range of intervals using a method of statistical analysis of deviations, marking of thyristor stage, for which deviation exceeds preset value, and determination of probability of failure in thyristor in accordance with result of marking.
EFFECT: technical result is reduced risk of DC system failure due to failures of thyristor stages.
