FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: according to the configuration method of the switch, a flexible tunable DC converting substation is made with a switch (QF1) on the side of the network and a breaker (QF2) of phases splitting on the side of the gate in the converter substation. In case of damage by means of differential protection or overcurrent protection for low voltage, the damaged phase and working phase are detected and determined. Mode of transition through zero value of alternating current (AC) is created at first by switching-off switch (QF2) of phases splitting on the side of valve of serviceable phase and switch (QF1) on side of network, thereby disconnecting damaged phase, disconnecting connection between power supply and point of damage and reaching elimination of damages.
EFFECT: high reliability, efficiency and quick elimination of damages, as well as high efficiency of protecting equipment of the converter substation and preventing further propagation of the damage.
