FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used for production of ingot from low-alloyed steel. In the method, all or part of the electrode is melted by vacuum-arc remelting, wherein before melting the electrode contains iron and carbon. Fused part of electrode falls into crucible and forms molten bath inside crucible, curing of which takes place due to heat exchange between fused bath and cooling fluid, wherein the occurring heat exchange enables to set the average solidification rate less than or equal to 45 mcm/s. Obtained ingot is designed so that when estimating it using ASTM E 45-10 method D during analysis along the longitudinal axis, the following results are obtained: number of regions containing inclusions of type D with critical level equal to 0.5, less than 5, complete absence of regions containing inclusions of type D with critical level equal to 1, and complete absence of regions containing inclusions of type B with critical level equal to 0.5.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain parts from low-alloy steel with increased service life and with lower heterogeneity in terms of mechanical properties.
