SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy and can be used to manufacture a steel ingot of maraging steel. In the process, a vacuum melting step of a resmelt electrode comprising from 0.2 to 3.0 mass % of titanium and from 0.0025 to 0.0050 mass % of nitrogen is carried out, and a step of remelting this electrode to produce a steel ingot having an average diameter of 650 mm or more; wherein the resulting maraging steel contains from 0.2 to 3.0 mass % of titanium.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain a maraging steel with a small spread of the test results for low-cycle fatigue, in which the influence of the size factor is reduced and the fatigue strength is sufficiently high.
